Laser Hair Reduction
Whether for hygienic or cosmetic reasons, the patient who is tired of temporary, often painful methods of removing unwanted hair may welcome laser hair removal with relief.

Lasers produce highly focused, intense beams of light that are absorbed by dark pigments in the hair follicles beneath the skin's surface and converted to heat, destroying the follicles and preventing hair growth. Multiple treatments are required for maximal long-term hair reduction -- the follicle must be "active" at the time of treatment, and not all follicles are active at the same time. Treatments are needle-free and do not require anesthesia. Most patients feel nothing more than a slight sting like the snap of a rubber band.

Common treatment areas include:
  • Upper Lip
  • Bikini
  • Axilla (Underarms)
  • Legs
  • Back
  • Chest
It is possible that some hair will grow back, though it is usually finer and lighter than what was originally removed. There may also be some redness and swelling following the procedure; however, daily activities can be resumed after treatment.

Laser Vein Removal
Many patients develop multiple unsightly, fine, red blood vessels on the nose and cheeks, giving a premature aged look to the face. These vessels, also known as telangiectasia, appear as a result of aging, sun exposure, rosacea, radiation or surgery. Most blood vessels can be removed with a laser in one to two treatments. Certain blood vessels on the legs can also be removed with the laser. The laser delivers a highly concentrated beam of light that targets the vessels and seals them shut. The body then reabsorbs the blood vessels, making them disappear.

Facial Fillers
Aging and sun exposure diminishes the volume and elasticity in our faces. Facial fillers replenish the skin's collagen support structure, smooth lines and fill indentations, producing a fresher, more youthful look. Many facial fillers are made of collagen and hyaluronic acid, which are part of the natural support structure of the skin.

Indications for fillers include:
  • Glabellar Lines (Between the Eyebrows)
  • Nasolabial Folds (From the Root of the Nose to the Angle of Your Mouth)
  • Dark Circles and Hollows Beneath the Eyes
  • Thinning Lip and Lip Lines
  • Contouring Sunken Cheeks and Chins
  • Restoring a Youthful Oval Shape to the Face
The latest tissue fillers include: Restylane®, Juvéderm™, Radiesse™, Sculptra™, and Cosmoderm®/Cosmoplast® (collagen). Depending on the types of wrinkles or scars, we can discuss the best filler options for you.

Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is the standard treatment for varicose and spider veins. A special sclerosing solution is injected into the dilated vein, which then collapses and is gradually absorbed by the body. By the end of the treatment program, the veins are less visible on the skin surface. This treatment requires 2-4 visits to provide optimal results. Sclerotherapy usually also relieves symptoms associated with enlarged veins and prevents further complications.

Chemical peels
Chemical peeling is designed to improve the appearance of skin by peeling away the top layers. Peeling agents remove wrinkles, help treat acne, and can improve sun-damaged appearance. Peels can involve the entire face or just specific areas, such as the forehead, eyelids, cheeks, or mouth. A variety of peels (i.e. superficial, medium-depth, and deep) can be performed. Each peeling agent destroys sun-damaged skin to a certain depth, allowing new skin to form in its place. When healing is complete, newer, smoother skin appears. Sometimes several superficial peels are done rather than one deep peel. Our Dermatologists or Aestheticians will tailor the type of peel to each patient for optimal results.

Microdermabrasion
This skin treatment uses fine crystals to provide a progressive abrasion to buff away rough and damaged skin. It can be used to improve the appearance of fine lines, sun damage, dilated pores, uneven skin texture, pigment irregularities, and mild scars. The skin tone is brightened, and the skin looks and feels cleaner, smoother and more youthful. For optimal results, multiple treatments are recommended at regular intervals.
